Privacy policy

This is a personal website run by Gerrit Lane. It is built to collect as little as possible about the people who visit it. This policy explains what information does reach me or the services that keep the site running, and what happens to it.
Information I collect
The site has no accounts, sign-up forms or comment sections, so I don't ask you for personal information.
Information collected automatically
Like every website, this one is delivered by servers that see basic technical details about each request: your IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time. The site is hosted on Cloudflare, which processes these details to deliver pages, protect the site from abuse and keep it running. Cloudflare's handling of this data is described in the Cloudflare privacy policy.
If analytics are enabled, the site uses Cloudflare Web Analytics, which counts page views in aggregate without cookies and without identifying individual visitors.
Fonts
Typefaces on this site are loaded from Google Fonts. When your browser requests them, Google receives your IP address and browser details. Google describes its use of that data in the Google privacy policy.
Cookies and local storage
This site does not set cookies for tracking or advertising. Some tools on the site may save your settings or inputs in your own browser's local storage so they are still there next time. That data stays on your device; it is not sent to me, and you can clear it at any time through your browser settings.
Files you use with on-site tools
Tools on this site that work with files, such as images or data you drop into them, process those files inside your browser. The files are not uploaded to me or to any server.
Sharing
I don't sell, rent or trade information about visitors. Information is shared only with the service providers named above, to the extent needed to run the site, or when the law requires it.
Do Not Track
This site does not track visitors across other websites, so it treats all visitors the same whether or not their browser sends a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal.
Children
This site is not directed to children under 13, and I don't knowingly collect personal information from them.
Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, including California and the European Economic Area, you may have rights over personal information held about you. This site doesn't collect or keep personal information, so there is nothing for me to provide, correct or delete. Anything a tool saves stays in your own browser, where you can clear it yourself.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
